Childhood Bereavement Network policy exchange seminar

Big Society. Spending Review. Public service cuts. NHS reform. What could it all mean for childhood bereavement services?

If you are concerned about the current policy climate and its impact on your service and the children and families you support, this is your chance to discuss your ideas and fears with colleagues in the sector.

Colleagues from the Childhood Bereavement Network and the National Children’s Bureau will provide an overview of policy changes and how they could affect you, for you to discuss at the meeting. There will be plenty of opportunity for you to discuss these and other current topics for the sector. You will also have the chance to feed your views back to CBN so that we can represent the sector effectively, and make sure that bereaved children and young people aren’t forgotten as the pace of change quickens.

Policy topics are likely to include:

  • Public sector cuts
  • Big Society
  • NHS reform
  • End of Life Care Strategy implementation.

This meeting is member-led and will be hosted by colleagues from the Laura Centre who are kindly donating their time to host and feed back from the meeting. If you would like to host a similar meeting in your area, please contact Alison Penny apenny@ncb.org.uk for details.
